Frog Dreaming aka The Quest

I finally got a copy of the greatest DIY kid movie of all time! It was a broken VHS copy that I had to splice and repair before I could watch it(on my $5 VCR that I had to go out and buy from Goodwill) But it was well worth it…everything I remember it being and more! I caught even more of the cleverly placed foreshadowing the 2nd and 3rd times I shared it with my son.

I‘d really like to know more about this film, ie: the locations, the making of and what happened to the props etc. I did manage to find the location of the pond near Mount Eliza, Victoria. If I ever make it to Austrailia, I’m gonna have to visit it.

It is no longer a town as a suburb

I dout any of those places in the film are left

I can tell u there are far better things here than a suburb of Melbourne
In paticular the north of the country

I gotta admit seeing where it was took some of the magic out of it. It would be like coming to Texas to see Dallas.

Nah, when I come to Australia I wanna see as much as I can, far away from any tourist traps. One long time aspiration of mine has been to drive a road train. My new one though is this:

A road train really isnt fun to drive
It's very big and slow
It can't go round corners or stop
And don't get me started on reversing them

Those old chamberlains are pretty cool
They drive them around the country

Ha it's funny watching people going down to the beach with there f trucks and big Chevys

They think they are pretty wicked when they fly past on the road
But without fail we find them down the track either bogged or with bits hanging off

Fords Chevys and landrovers all of them can't handle the offroad pounding

The jeeps go ok though
And not mock a jap car the toyotas and nissans rule the show
A Suzuki samurai will beat a f truck anyway

I just watched the entire movie and it was great! Im surprised and saddened that it wasn't put on DVD. It's sort of a lost movie in some respects!
