Tryin' to figure different ways to fit batteries on karts
I have been using these small 12V 12AH batteries for a couple of years now, on several karts
Mainly 'cause I already had some & to show that "big" "giant" batteries or battery packs are NOT needed to power a go kart
Yup, you can ride longer with bigger/larger capacity batteries
...just like you could ride for days if you had a Predator with a 5 gal. tank
...but, why carry all of that extra weight (which also affects maneuverability) just to have a little fun from time to time
Setting these batteries on end seems to conserves the most space & seems more compact

...that it may be OK to use/discharge while setting this way (on their end)
...but, for charging, it's best for them to be sitting (regular) on their bottom
So, I came up with a battery box that holds all (4) 12V 12AH batteries in a small compact case
It holds the batteries tightly together while in use
…& then it can be opened up & layed out flat for charging
I used some corrugated plastic, from an old sign
...to make (2) - (4) sided boxes that held (2) batteries in each one
For this prototype I just wrapped both boxes in "burlap print" Duct Tape
...then, connected them together on one end with more tape to form a hinge
