First Go Kart from Mississippi (no I didn't marry my sister or cousin)

I wanted to introduce myself on the forum.. I'm new to the for kart community. I'm Anthony, I've been an Internet Marketer for 9 years and love the freedom of working whenever and wherever. I have a beautiful wife and 2 kids and life is grand!

Recently, I just purchased a Murray Explorer go kart.
The frame was horrible, but the Tecumsah 6.0hp engine was in pretty good condition.

It took me about two weeks to strip it to the frame, grind metal, remove rust, body filler, prime, paint, and double clear coat it all. It looks BRAND NEW now!

I just need some guidance with it.. I don't want the Tecumsah, I'd much rather have a bigger engine or one that can be modified easier. My end goal is to have more power and have a sound come out of it that is not typical.

I watched the video of "beefy" with the Honda vtwin 600cc with R1 exhaust and it sounds like old muscle.

I would like to do the same thing.. Any help is appreciated and if I can help you with anything I will be happy to.

I posted some before and after pics in one of my albums.. of the go kart project so far, let me know your thoughts.

I put a 750 motorcycle engine on my go kart and it does not sound "typical" if you can hear someone on the other side of it yelling at the top of their lungs it is turned off.
if you go with a 10hp or 16hp you will have plenty of power and you can change the sound with different mufflers(custom or retail)

depending on the size of this kart there is a huge amount of issues to sort though before puting an engine like that on a kart starting with the immense weight

not sure if u have ever picked one up but its a 2 person job or usually we use a
come-a-long on a tractor

as captain said
a 10 or 13 hp is as big as u need to go

have u got any pics of the kart?
