Today marked another milestone for myself and fiance, we moved out of my dad's place into an apartment. Was not sure that everything would go through, but last Thursday (November 30th) all the paperwork went through and we were accepted. That Friday while I was leaving work, I had called my boss to tell him that on December 9th (today), we were moving. Needless to say he was kind of mad, saying I put him in an impossible position and blah blah blah blah. So Tuesday we had an inch of snow fall and I was called in to plow. Had to teach my replacement how to run a snowrator on a sidewalk...controls no different than a stand on mower, just has a hydraulic plow, and skid steering. So yesterday I went in to turn in my shop key, and picked up a 6'x12' uhaul trailer. Filled up the trailer with room to spare.
So I brought all my hand tools, my mig welder minus the regulator and C25 shielding gas. Also grabbed my chop saw. So I can just run flux cored if I have to weld anything.
This apartment is just temporary really only for a year and a half. Reasons we moved were, my boss was an absolute tool bag, because when he promoted me to do fertilizing and get my pesticides licenses for Minnesota, he said I'd be getting a pay raise, never happened. I called him out on it and he said I had to show improvement, even though I had it in writing. On top of that, the machine I was running had crap tires that he didn't replace until after the season. So because of that I was on bald tires and rolled the thing twice.
The other reason was, my fiance wanted to be closer to her family and with them being here in Nebraska, it makes the drives easier. I'm only 6 hours from my dad, 2 hours from her one sister, 4 hours from her other sister and 5 hours from her mom. So in some ways it's a decent half way point. My max drive time is about 10 hours before I'm burned out and fatigued. That and her co-workers were pretty dang lazy. One called in a couple times just to play Destiny and do the raids.
So hopefully in 18 months we can move into a house. I'm going to have a shed built with heating, air conditioning, lighting, and have space for me to build crap. Next year we have our wedding which I cannot wait, wish I could have done it sooner. At least now I can be closer to ATV trails, just need my Blaster which is back in MN still. Don't have a garage to store it here and the people that live here are pretty shady folk so, there's that.
