Hey there! Gerrick from Calgary, Alberta Canada here! I'm a local actor and indie filmmaker! I joined this forum because I'm hoping to receive some guidance on a project of mine...an electric, rideable, camera dolly! :wai:
Currently, I have our old treadmill motor - 90vdc/15amp brushless, tires, treadmill frame, pulleys, and an E-Bike Controller that's good for 36-48Vdc/25Amps. Anyone available to give me some good tips?? I appreciate your help! Help me be one of the first to make one of these!!

Hi and :welcome2:

Well yes.
IIRC dcastillo used a treadmill motor as well.

so if the controller can power your motor that should work
(you'll end up with roughly 700W, but for a cam rig that should be okay I guess)

Post some pictures (motor, controller, frame) maybe we can think of something.

Thanks for the reply! So here's the frame w/motor attached...please ignore the fact that the pulley is on the wrong side, I had to make some modifications since this last pic:

This is as far as I've gotten so far. I'm waiting to hear back from a local heavy duty equipment shop to let me know if they have a dc controller that they can offload to help me get this thing going!

So I've posted a picture of the frame I'm attempting to use, along with the motor. I received a Curtis controller (1242-2410) recently, but its for a Separately excited dc motor? Can it still be used, or do I need to procure a different motor for this controller? Thanks for the help!

I'm not sure to be honest..

I don't know what model your motor is so I can't check for a manual..
but chances are it's NOT seperately excited...

If you can skip the S-tabs or just short them out for the controller to run a conventional motor I don't know.
just check the manual:

Well, it looks as though I won't have to worry about it after all...someone is looking to provide me with a separately excited motor to mate with the controller!

After that, I'll connect it all, have them program parameters for me, and then it's steering build time! I appreciate you taking the time to answer the question however.
