Father Son project - in Atlanta

Greetings! Excited to find this forum.

My son and I wanted to improve our virtually nonexistent welding skills on something fun. Having a go kart as a kid made me the tinkering car nut I am today.

We live in the Atlanta area. We've done a lot of work to our old cars, usually just figuring things out along the way. And that's basically what we did with this kart.

I've come here with a question but I wanted to do an intro first.

Interesting frame design.

It would be really cool to see that center point of the frame made to pivot so you could keep all 4 wheels on the ground over rough terrain. Wouldnt do any favors for its high speed cornering ability, but it would be a pretty cool and unique design feature.

I think Carter did something similar on some of their frames, but the pivot point was up on the front axle, and could only go a few degrees before hitting the stops.

I bought the "plan" from Spider Carts after a web search. The word plan in quotes because I discovered there was much not included in the instructions. I'm not knocking it, just reporting my experience in case someone reads this later during research.
