Not so long ago I acquired an old 84" Vf500 with all intentions of riding her. Well that dream died quickly so now it sits under a tarp out in the yard... :ack2:

Today I started the process of creating VifferCart! With the engine almost out of the frame I realized I should probably do some research on how to do this correctly!

So at any rate I am Steve and I am excited to be here!

Welcome to the forum Steve! I've got an '83 VF750 I have thought about using, but that's dangerous volumes of power, so- the first thing I will tell you is that you'd better be a dang competent fabricator if you plan on doing this. Not only must the structural integrity of the frame be perfect, but so must every other component of the chassis, so as to avoid a Darwin Award.

Ha I do not plan on becoming the proud but dead recipient of the Darwin Award. With regards to my fabrication competence - I can weld rather strong joints but I also plan to get some advice (and overview) from my buddy who used to be a ship yard welder. Finally I dont fear CAD! Before I go and build anything let alone put myself in it, it will all be built in CAD. Ill put up the designs here when I am done too!
