Hello, my name is russell. I'm making an electric go kart for the "Power racing series" in October. this forum looked both useful and active, so I thought I'd sign up.

Thanks!:auto:

Wow sounds like fun.. the 500 dollar limit is a real bummer though ;)

But if I understood corectly batteries only count with half their market value..

And the motors need to be fused (i.e. power limited) to 1440 Watts electrical powerdraw
..tough job
Is the my1020 800W motor still available ? (I think that should be a nearly perfect match)
IF you can't find a 800watt scooter for less than 300 bucks,
I think the my1020 (~61 on ebay) and a matching controller [YK31C] (~29 on ebay)
should give you a good start, just a cheap twist throttle and the electric part's covered for less than 100 bucks (well plus batteries of course)

the lighter you and your kart will be the better...(of course)

good luck, and keep us posted
