I am nick and new to forum. I restore vespa scooters and an electrician by trade. My question to you is how can i hook up a heavy duty axle set up to a sebring vanguard citicar. i was originally thinking of doing a live axle but am worried about bad turning. i have read through a good amount of posts and i am leaning on doing a live axle with a bearing on the other wheel so i can mount the disk break and motor drive sprocket anywhere on the shaft. this cart with rider and battery will weigh around the 1700 lbs so i need it to be heavy duty. also i am sourcing a motor and controller through D&D systems. top speed is to be around 50mph. i am also planing on making a sub-frame out of steel for the car chassis to be bolted on because the frame is aluminum.
thanks for your help i am looking to take a car that has no parts being made for it and making it a daily driver in the nice weather.
I am looking to find out how to make this axle set up work what diamater rod should i use for this kind of weight and where to source 14 inch tire hubs for the cart. it uses 4 bolt trailer tires on the car 14" as stock. thanks again
