Ahhh, welcome to the forum. No way that your son has been asking for a kart for ages. He hasn't been alive " for ages ". Anyway, great to see you starting him out young. I got my oldest Grandson driving a kart on his own a few weeks before his 5th birthday. Your son still has a way to go. Maybe he has an older brother and you posted that one for the shock value. FWIW, mine had a little battery powered plastic jeep ( A small child's kitty car ) at least a year before he got the gas powered kart. It helps a lot for them get the concept of the steering wheel and gas pedal and what they do, at a MUCH slower speed.

Now that looks like he is ready, and just the right size. A tip. Don't know how fast.that kart will go but some long pants ( Levi's ) just in case. Glad to see the helmet.

It’s limited to about 14mph. Haven’t messed with the governor or anything.

Hey! Eye protection, nice! Our rides usually start with, "put em on or were stayin home!".

Kids get something in their eye, they panic. Not ideal when controlling a vehicle.

14 mph is probably just about right for a 4 year old. Keep it there until You feel he is ready for more. And wait till he says, " Dad this things too slow, can't you make it go any faster" . Because once you do, there's no going back.
