Bit of a problem, got a Coleman kart with a pred 212, has centri clutch on it just junked that and out on a torque converter, it has air intake with j&n like filter, re jetted, and exhaust. Issue just started where it will only run if I cover intake up with my palm and let air sneak in. Can’t figure it out, do I need a bigger jet? Any help much appreciated

It won't run at all or you need to cover the intake slightly just to start it? A lot of people "choke it manually" with their hand to get engines started if it has no lever-operated choke or the choke is broken.

Ezcome and Denny are correct. Your air-to-fuel mixture is way way on the lean side (not enough fuel) for whatever reason.

No telling what exact kart you have (because Coleman makes more than one), but only track and street karts use centrifugal clutches for all out speed. The off road karts with big tires basically need a torque converter or they will roast a centrifugal clutch. This simple fact is just a hint about your level of experience.... 😉
