Fabroman: Yep, I'll take some measurements latter today and post them for ya.

Orange Crate: Yeah, even though Manco (now amsport) swore that it wasn't one of theirs. But it has been pretty much confirmed that it is indeed a Manco. Earlier 1980s you say? Have any more info on this kart?

They were sold by Sears Roebuck and Co. (as identified by a serial number tag on one of mine) as well as Western Auto stores. Sometime during the early 90s they were sued when a girl got her hair wound around the live axle. There was (and still is I think) a massive recall and that is probably why they denied it as being theirs.

According to Wikipedia, "In the 1970s, the name "Roebuck" was dropped from the trade name of the stores, though not from the official corporate name."
So mine, at least, might be pre-1980.

Hey there, thanks for all that info. Nothing like litigation to make something go away, right. Thanks for helping. I'd say mine is the same vintage.

Fabroman: Here are some measurements from the Manco that I have. They are: Frame (bumper to bumper) 61", Front axle: 25 3/4", Steering Shaft: 19 3/4", Frame (at forward seat) 16 1/2", Rear Frame (from seat back to bumper) 26 1/2", Rear Frame width, 21 3/4", Rear axle to rear bumper, 8 1/4", Rear Axle width, 38".

Need anything else, just hit me. I'll see what I can do.

Awesome, thanks Thom. A few quick conversions & I'll be good to go

EDIT: Done. ATM, my design is 2" longer overall & the seat is set back about 8". Not bad for a visual design :D

EDIT EDIT: Sorry to be a pita but, can you double check? By my calculations (long story) the rear frame is only around 19" which would make the front frame around 24". Could you have mixed them up?

Fabroman: Let me double check just to make sure, but I'm sure I didn't. BUT....you just never know. (LOL) Right? I'll post it in the morning, how's that?

Fabroman: Measuring from the very rear of the kart, to the seat bar (that the seat loop is tacked to) mine measures exactly 17" outside to outside, length-wise.

Measuring from the very end of dog leg of the steering loop (where it tacks to the chassis rail all the way back to the tubings opening) to the outer dia. of the front axle, mine measures 28 1/2".

Is this the measurements you were looking for? Let me know.

Sorry I took so long, I've been away for the weekend
