Recently ordered a new Predator 212cc to take the place of my 5hp B&S Raptor. I mounted the motor and was ready to start her up, but noticed that the chain upon connecting to the "clutch drum" wasn't doing anything.
To clarify, if I yank on the chain, the clutch drum will spin however the clutch won't. How is the clutch supposed to spin the shaft if the clutch drum isn't spinning the clutch itself?
I'll walk you through what I did, maybe the pictures will help.
Here's what I started with:
-The Clutch
-Clutch Guard
-Bolt with two washers to keep the clutch components attached to the crankshaft.
-Two metal "stop-keyways" that sit in place of the keyway on the shaft. I seem to only be able to use the smaller one, because my clutch guard cannot fit on the shaft if I use the bigger keyway.
Fit the smaller stop-keyway into the keyway.
Slid the clutch over the stop-keyway.
Fit the clutch guard over the clutch and attached the bolt with both washers.
Now I just need to hook the chain onto the clutch...however, as I mentioned, the clutch guard spins but the clutch does not.
Where did I go wrong?
