Hi all,

Picking up used CT200U-EX.
Looking to modify.

parts list.
Ebay TAV 2
Intake, header, etc...

Question is.
Keep existing motor and modify/build using predator crank for TAV
or
I have used Hemi Predator 212 donor that needs a new rod.

I've built a few predators and for around $300 I can have a nice ARC components motor.

Is the cost of building CT200 motor same as predator?

First thing you may want to look at it the EX's output shaft size, if it is the newer one it will have the 5/8in instead of the 3/4in output shaft which would make the eBay TC useless. You can get a kit for the EX from GoPower Sports (I am sure others have it as well) that will give you a sleeve to go from 5/8 to 1in and then use the 30 series 1in TC, however those run around $180 or so. You can get a new predator 212 ($100) and a new eBay TC ($60 or so) for less than the cost of a TC for the 5/8in shaft.

In my opinion I would get a new 212 and the eBay TC kit and call it a day. Of course if yours has the 3/4in shaft then pretty much everything I said above means nothing :).

Here is the TC kit for the 200U-EX https://www.gopowersports.com/coleman-ct200-series-torque-converter-kit-cover-may-be-blue-or-black/ and as you can see it has the adapter sleeve to convert the output shaft.

I think the cost of the parts for both the CT200 and the predator 212 is the same as they will share mostly the same parts, but with a predator 212 I do believe you get more mod support.

Just my $0.02.
