Hi! I have a cheap electric sit-on scooter with 2 batteries that won't hold the power that you give it when you recharge. I also have a small line trimmer engine that i'm guessing is around 30cc. I was thinking of replacing the electric motor with the 2 stroke engine. Does anyone think this is a good idea and maybe know what speed it will reach? By the way the electric motor with 2 connected 12 volt batteries reaches around 20km/h.

Hard to say without pics and more info. I'd say that if the drivetrain looks beefy enough to handle it, it may be worth a shot.

Thanks, i might get some pics soon when my camera starts working
but i have another problem. I don't think my engine has a centrifugal clutch or any type of clutch or torque converter. Can you explain how to fit a clutch to the engine??

You really need a pic to understand what kind of setup you have -- but on a go kart engine, there's the output shaft, which has a little slot in it called the keyway. The clutch fits on the shaft. The interior of the clutch also has that little slot. A piece of metal called a key fits in there and ensures that the clutch doesn't just spin on the shaft. That's it, cluthc is now installed.

For an idler, I think you're talking about an accessory sprocket that's installed, like a tensioner. I'm not sure.

Thanks. I decided to ditch the centrifugal clutch and have the engine connected directly by chain and sprockets so when you push it it will start up. The only problem is it stalling when at low revs. Tommorow i will get some pictures of the engine which i am repairing the carburetor on. I just recently bought a new primer, spark plug and some fuel tubes.

I have some pictures of the 2 stroke engine and the scooter frame and cover and the wheels and the sprocket and brakes.
