hello guys
How can I test my air compressor? It seems that something has happened with it. I turned it on and it does not work. maybe the problem in motor.. Last week I noticed unusual smell (like burnt rubber).
It is normal. What can it be?
thanks

I think your nasal sensory organs are defective....burning electrical windings don't smell like burning rubber.....your motor is toast.....end of story. (Probably) ....

EDIT: And likely your compressor itself has issues...(or it wouldn't have a new motor)....What is your country of origin....or are you Cajun with a healthy dose of French?

Or maybe the motor burned up because the pump is seized or seizing. The smell in that case could have been the belt drive? The pump (part that looks like an engine) needs lubrication. Does it have oil in the crankcase?

need to know what its doing.. is it just nothing at all?? hear any clicks? or runs but no pressure? eats all your corndogs?
i had one with broken fan blades get too hot and damage the check valve where the tubing enters the tank so when the compressor stopped it put the tank pressure back to the compressor cylinder so next time it went to start it couldnt get going and luckly blew a breaker before frying the motor..
when somethings not working i usually take things apart and put back together.. works more often than not

90 gallon tank? Are you sure? My large compressor has a 100 litre tank & a 3.5hp motor...

Check to see if the pump turns freely by hand, there should be very little resistance...
