Me and my buddy are doing a project together this summer. We are trying to build an electric go kart, on an old murray frame. So far we have the go kart frame stripped down, and we got a motor and controller out of a club car golf cart. The motor is a Club Car model EJ4001 3.3hp. I was hoping yall could help me find the gear ratio of the golf cart so I can use the same ratio with sprockets and different size tires for the go kart.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply man

I was trying to keep the weight down, but i reckon thats the cheapest, easiest way to do it. At least that way I don't have to get a cap machined for the motor, a custom shaft splined and turned, etc.

I might as well just take the whole gas and brake pedal assembly out of the golfcart, too. I'll post some pics when its done to let yall know how it turns out.

We are actually building this to put electromagnets on the bottom and rare earth magnets on the "road" that we are making, to build essentially a "flying cart" for a school thing.
