Choke problems?

I have a Predator 212 Hemi engine and I recently got a stage one kit that included a new air filter, 22 pound springs, exhaust pipe, billet flywheel, and new jet (it did not come with a new jet rod thing). The engine runs on choke but as soon as I turn the choke off, it shuts off. If you have any answers, please respond.

did you make sure it ran before this? does the filter have a plastic film on one side? is the timing correct? are the valves seating?

Yes to all of the above. I found out that I may need to mess with the idle screw a little, is that a correct thing to do?

ya, if that doesnt work, screw all the way in then turn out 1 1/2 or 2 times and then take the jets and make sure its clean, if it is try getting the next size up jets

Needing choke to run, put simply, indicates that the engine is too lean to run on its own. With the choke on, you are limiting the air supply to where the air-fuel mixture is nice and rich.

Heed Frog's advice and report back. We like resolution and happy endings.
