Hello all:

I'm new to this site. Looks like a lot of people sharing cool pictures and ideas. I wanted to reach out. I have a Carter Bros XTV 150cc. I have done a bigger carb swap. New brake caliper and master cylinder. Next I would like to fix the steering. I haven't found anything online, that even comes close to what is on the kart now. I work at a facility that has a water jet. Our tech said he could make the the steering plate. The teeth are a bit chewed up and bent. Was wondering if anyone has seen this style of steering, maybe knows where to get parts. Or maybe I should swap it out with a rack and pinion set up. Any ideas, advice would be appreciated. Here are some pics of the cart and the steering.

That steering system is like the kind used on yard tractors. I would go to a true rack and pinion instead of repairing that hybrid. Just make sure the rack you get is all metal and no plastic. Welcome to the nut house by the way!

Thanks for the advice. I assumed it was Frankensteined. I will look into the rack and pinion. I'll update as I move along. Thanks again.
