Hi guys,

Im after any information and support in building this 4 wheeled E cargo bike to carry my tools and bits and bobs around central London. Here is a design I would like to copy (the company wants £14k!!) Hoping to build it under £6k. Where would be a good place to start?

Any help would be much appreciated!

You will need to acquire or build a frame. Do you have a source for one or are you good with fabrication?

I can safely say more than half your expense will be on a decent variable controller module. Before you buy anything you need to assess the weight range this thing needs to haul so you don't overwork an undersized motor.

A 300-350w motor it typically good for moving 250lbs max, so I'd say a 1000w-1500w should have the power to move 600-800lbs of combined total weight

Do you intend for it to be full suspension and offroad rugged?

What laws, regulations, insurance, registration requirements apply in London for being street legal?

I think I’d subtract a wheel, and use a prefabricated tricycle.

A manual pedal then add an electric kit, or an electric one. Then modify it as needed.

how much stuff do you intend to bring with you.
The photo you showed looks like a camper trailer.

there are cheaper options already made. Golf carts? You can get 2HP electric trucks (utility vehicles) from China for a few thousand USD
