Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has some good suggestions for a brushless motor.

I need top efficiency so I'm looking at brushless. Geared in the motor would be nice so i dont need a jackshaft. Regen isnt necessary and I'd rather not go a hub motor as gears will let me keep the efficiency I want on hills.

I need more than 750w but not excessively because I need to save on weight. And it has to be 36V.

God I'm picky. I can maybe post a sketchup design of the frame its going in....Maybe not. Ill reveal the whole thing to you guys later on in the year if you can wait?

Thanks in advance

check out endless-sphere. They are the biggest bike forum that I know of. 750 watt is only 1hp so the bike people would know more. If you decide to go bigger Motenergy formerly Mars Electric has some good motors in the 6-14 continuous hp range and with a programmable controller you could probably limit the current to your preferred max.

yea I've already had a look around endless sphere. It's a bit disjointed for me as to what I'm looking for. I'll start a thread on there sooner or later, I think I signed up last time I was on there.

I figured I'd might as well ask here since somebody will know something, and it's my favourite forum by a long way. Its going to be in an endurance comp where high speed and power isnt necessary, 500w was just shy off what is necessary so 750 or thereabouts should be the sweet spot. 6hp is just too much unnecessary weight for it to be justified
