This model had a goofy starter..similar to a johnson 9.5 marine engine (idk if your familiar with that or not) and i don't have it. It does have a ring gear.

I think if i found a fairly small tire/wheel (lawnmower size) and adapted that to the crank it would make it easier for the engine to be spun over. Maybe less low-end, but i think the engine will have enough get up and go.

If russ can power a go kart with one, you can power a bike. With like a 6" lawnmower tire, and your 26" (?) bike tire you would still get around 4:1 reduction which will be fast as ****, but you should have plenty of power. You could also just put millions of little tack welds on that spindle for traction.

Don't need it son! Free air is the new liquid cooled!

I put a plastic hand grip from a twist throttle onto the shaft. It works well. Now i just need a carb that works...

I wouldn't say piles...i need a diaphragm tillotson, and the one i have is junk. The majority of the carbs i have are bowl mikuni's.

RUSS! please post.....What carb did you recommend for these again? Can you tell me anything about the engine? THANKS!
