hey guys so I have this project wheeler and I just got a new makuni for it and jump started it today... it ran great and all so I went to take it for a test spin and when I hooked up the cables again to jump it stupid me put them on backwords and now it has no power...so any ideas of what I did and what I need to fix??? thanks for any help guys

Hooking up jumper cables backwards usually results in blown fusible links and sometimes many other much more serious problems.

I checked your wiring diagram found here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/19783337/1999-Polaris-Sportsman-500-Wiring-Diagram and noticed it doesn't show any fusible links or fuses, but uses auto-reset type circuit breakers to protect the system in case of a short. You should check to see if power is still passing through your circuit breakers by testing them with a 12 volt test light or volt meter.


I also found some other info that might help here: http://forums.atvrideronline.com/70...9-polaris-sportsman-500-fuse-panel/index.html that claims some of your relays have re-set switches, so you might try to find those and see if they have a little button on the outside that you can press down to try resetting em.
