98cc Chainsaw engine pics

Just got the engine for the scooter project completed. It runs great after rebuilding the carb, but it's way too loud and I need to find some type of silencer for the pipe. Maybe a large muffler from a mower will do the trick? Suggestions please?

you need then end can of a scooter basicaly a tube with loads of little holes along its lenth, with a outer tube packed with somthing that will not burn eg: horse hair fiber glass. i think a normal mower can will afect proformance.

where did you buy that exaust, and how did you know it was tuned and right for your motor?

Any one know how to make tuned exaustes for twostrokes?

Check RC Boat web sites, they sell pipes and mufflers for those size engines.... But when you try to silence a 2 stroke too much it will ROB it of power....

That pipe is from a YZ 80 Yamaha. We'll see how it works!

Do you know how to weld? If so just find a silencer can off the end of another pipe and weld it on
