80cc dirtbike

Ok so I was on craigslist looking for an old dirtbike with an engine for my go kart and I came across an 80cc dirtbike that just needs a new piston ring. I talked the guy down to 150$. Now I am wondering if I should just fix the ring and keep the dirbike or convert it over to a go kart.
How much power does an 80cc have? I am about 6ft 160lbs. Alot of people tell me to go for the 125cc But I just want something to mess around with not go full fledged dirt biking. Is this bike to small for me.

Judging by the picture, it's definitely not a Honda. It looks like one of those Baja chinese clones, they were available at Pep Boys in the US and from Canadian Tire up here in Kanaduh. If it is in fact a Baja, it's also not an 80cc, it's more likely to be a 70 or a 90 (fwiw, size-wise it looks like a 70). I just went through a very similar experience with a Baja 50 that I bought for my son, it ran but made tons of blue smoke and had sparkly bits in the oil. I put a used Honda XR 50 cylinder on it (which bolted right up) and a new XR 50 piston kit, did the diesel-in-the-crankcase trick to flush out the badness, and now it runs like a brand new bike. If that bike is a 70 then Honda XR 70 parts will fit, but download the manual & compare the engine dimensions to make sure (OWNERS MANUAL - DR70 Dirt Bike Owners Manual US (VIN prefix LUAH). Since it is not a honda do you believe it is even worth 150$?

$150 is a fair price. I paid about the same for my son's 50.

As far as how much power it will have, if my son's 50 will haul my fat *** around the yard then that 70 will probably go pretty good. Keep in mind it's a kid's bike and you're close to the weight limit for the suspension. It'll be fun for a while, but eventually you'll feel like a gorilla on a tricycle. Although at that point I guess you could scrap the rest of the bike and build a kart out of it :D

Oh ok I was just worried because my friends have said that they were on a 50cc before and it would not even move them. He is around 180lb so I wanted to make sure I could still ride it up hills and get around with it. Behind my house has a bunch of power lines so I ride under the power lines because its nothing but field although there is a few hills and rocks back there.
If worse comes to worse my girlfriend loves driving my go karts I can always upgrade to a 125cc and teach her to ride the dirtbike shes only 5ft 1 100lbs
