Almost ready for bodywork on my build but concerned that with 6x11kg 36Ah SLAs weight will come in at 140kg/300lbs! Running 5.3:1 and 14" tyres on the back will it have enough torque/power?

Thanks FA, very helpful. It was actually 5.8:1 but I've ordered a 10t pinion now, giving me 6.4:1 :) Would like to find a 9T but cant find them in the UK! Need to stay at 64T sprocket due to ground clearance. What ratio are you running?

The Atom kart is currently running @ a 5.4:1 gear ratio
...a 10T drive sprocket & a 54T driven sprocket

Top speed is ~35MPH :2guns:
...but, takes a minute to get "up to speed"
(like ~3 city blocks)

I'm thinkin' about tryin' a 60T driven :cheers2:

I know it'll loose a bit of top speed
...but, the acceleration should be better :wai:

Think I'm going to bite the bullet and get a 3kw BLDC motor and controller, will test the 2kw first but with around 500lb total weight inc driver I think I'll want the power!

So it's been tested, hit 35mph also so fairly happy! Next one will use a Motenergy though, would like more torque really.
