5hp Briggs Carb ????

Can someone tell me the base setting ?My problem is hard starting .I put new carb kit in and the diaphragm spring was not in the kit.Do I need a new spring? The problem I was haven was caused by the diaphragm it was wore through.The last time I tried to set the carb was with the bad diaphragm so im all out of wack. Any info would be great.

Turn the mixture screw all the way in (clockwise)be careful not to over do it.
Then turn it out (counterclockwise) 1.5 turns. This will allow you to start the engine to do final adjustments.
