I am in the process of getting everything ready to building a granddaddy kart. I was wondering if anyone has stretched one about 36” and made a four seater. Or done so to a similar kart. Seams like an easy modification to the plans that would be great for my family of 3. Also dose anyone know where to get a more updated parts list for the Granddaddy?

Four seater? Egad. Stretching the limits of the go kart definition. Wild times we're in....

Who are you planning to fill the extra two seats with? If children, you might get by with it but teens and up will get progressively worse. Think of all the weight of the passengers AND the steel tubing and materials. That kart is going to be a pig needing a much larger engine with more torque. I wouldn't do it, I'd just make four single seat karts for everyone. They will have more fun that way.

Welcome to the forum. :welcome2:

I thought it was your typo but it's theirs. They named themselves SpiderCARTS like the kind you put groceries in and not the "K' kind.

Even two karts that each seat 2 people ( very common on the used kart market )
Will be " faster, cheaper, and a lot more fun for both pilot and passenger.
Hellion is right. A 4 seater will be an oversized pig, and nobody will ever get the true go kart thrill. For your own enjoyment, please reconsider your plan.

Ok thanks for the input! I agree with it not being a good idea! But man it would be cool if it worked! I am just going to do the two seater and stretch it out 12”.
