36 or 48 volts?

What would be better? Power wise and time? I am looking at 2 motors.
1000w at 36 amps 36 volts

or

1000w 27 amps 48 volts?

I'm building a kart out of a lawn tractor. Using the 6 speed transmission. I only need it to go walking speed , but with enough TQ to make it up a 25* or so incline for 1000 feet. The transmission is 9-1 in 6th gear and 30-1 in 1st.

The batteries are 12v 20ahr each
