Just got myself a buggy with 212 predator, have a mikuni carburetor to go on it and plan to build myself a straight pipe for it from old pitbike exhaust.

Before making a start my question is: should I be following any guidelines when making my own header pipe/exhaust? Example, does size of pipe make performance differ? Optimum size and length?

Thanks

Thanks all.

I picked the buggy up second hand for a few hundred. It's in good shape, engines still strong (needed oil change typically). Plan on keepin it as low budget as i can while still having a fun toy.
So I have two pitbikes (currently in pieces, will probably stay that way lol) which I took a 22mm mikuni carb off and a race pipe off another. Plan on altering pipe to fit, will be good learning curve on mig welder. Also took 2 rear wheels tyres off a small 4wheeler and put on rear of buggy. Definitely improved feel and look.

Sidenote: I have a 4 stroke, 150cc, 4 speed sitting round. Any good ideas for it other than a bike?

I always say bigger is better. Here is the exhaust on my gx120.
