Hey just one sugestion. I would use nut's with nylon bushings in them I think there called "Nylock". Also a nylon washer between where the u bracket's pivot ontop of each other would realy smoothen it out.

Along with nylocks (aircraft nuts), I make heavy use of Keps nuts. Has built in lock washer.

alrighty ill use nylon washers in between the two plates so they move smoothly. The nut that holds the pivot part together will be welded on so it wont come off, the nut that holds the pivot part to the wheel will also be welded on and the nut that holds the wheel on will be a lock nut. I might put some lock tite on there too or a little spot weld on there so it wont vibrate off but the weld can be broken with a hard smack.

I modded the air filter by drilling 3 holes in the bottom, holes all around the sides and two on the top as eyes with a scratched out smiley face. The top one is just for a joke, it may increase air flow by a little bit but its just to add some coolness to the engine. I took a little video of the engine showing the modded air filter and a little run of the engine. It runs and sounds great!

I took out the spark plug and shined a little torch down there and shined it on the valves and they got quite a lot of carbon on them. I may take the head off and clean that out if i get bored. How much extra power/performance will cleaning the carbon out create?

Tomorrow im going to the go kart shop to get my sprocket holder, sprocket, clutch and some chain. I was going to order it but then my brother said he had the day off work tomorrow and he can take me. So early tomorrow im going there and getting my parts.

Wednesday im welding up my frame and hopefully making up my back axle. The kart should be done by early next week or end of this week.

ahh the sound changed a tiny bit but mostly it just accelerated smoother and i didnt need to choke it. Before it was running real lean coz it couldnt suck enough air which made the engine run like ****. I needed to choke it for like 2 mins before it would run by its self. Now it starts right up and runs real nice. I think it has a bit more power and torque now and revvs slightly higher than b4.

Overall it was a good mod. I dont no where to get seafoam in australia, i think its an american only product.

Yeh i think ive seen something like valve cleaner or carbon cleaner before. I might go get some, im also going to change out the oil after i clean out the carbon as ive heard using good oil boosts performance. I dunno how long the oil has been in there for. Its full to the top with oil but i dont no whats in there. Whats a good oil to put in there? Car oil? Synthetic? Thanks.

Welded a bit of the frame today: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=z4wBGsIAtfs

Read the description of the youtube video for more details, i wrote a whole essay on today in there.

Enjoy
