Nice. I got a 2003 from a guy I work with for $250. The carb was disgusting, because the hose that connects the air filter to the carb wasn't attached, and there was serious crud in there.

New carb, and it was like new. My son is still a bit afraid of his (layed it down once), but still sits on it once a week and talks about it. He's six.

Looks like your son is enjoying his! Good job, dad :)

Edit: I mean Uncle

Make sure you get a really nice kart in trade. Those PW50's go for a pretty penny, even used... around where I live anyway.

I've considered trading my son's a few times for a kart, but figured I'd regret it later when he was ready to year it up on the dirt bike.

I don't think I'll get as good of a deal on another one, that's in as good condition as the one I have.

Good luck! Have fun!

I hear you man. My neighbor tried to trade me a Schwinn mountain bike from Target for ours, heh. Nope.

If your nephew loses total interest in it, you could break it down and use the engine on a little kart project. That'd be a nice little powerhouse on a small kart. I've considered it.

Only reason I haven't, is because I know my boy will want to ride it at some point. Plus.... I ride it too :D
