I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the structural integrity of bedframes.
Given that the total tonnage of some of the couples I've seen at Walmart or
Ye Old Country Buffet has assaulted the scales at the local feed store at well
North of 700lbs - I'd say the "girders" used in their construction must
be substantial . . .
