    A bearing website

Check out http://www.vxb.com/ They are the sales arm for a manufacturer (I believe) and I've had good luck buying from them in the past for CNC equipment. They have a lot of varieties of common bearing sizes from both simple to exotic stuff - even some very nice ceramic stuff. Might have what...

    Good deal on shocks

Wow, that's a great deal. Any idea on the compression? The ship weight is odd too, the 11" are listed at 2lbs and the 12" at 6lbs. That's pretty heavy for a 12" shock. I've not ordered from Bailey before so I have no idea how accurate their description is for anything. Thanks! -Mike

Go Kart Ideas - Would Love Feedback!

After some research, it looks like I'm going to go with a "spur gear differential" - they appear both simpler and cheaper to make than a bevel-gear design. here we go again

I personally hate the "break, fix, repeat" cycle a great deal and so I generally over-design and over-build - it's heavy and more expensive but generally quite reliable. If you can do it, you can always over do it :) -Mike

Go Kart Ideas - Would Love Feedback!

Thanks for the comments! The people racing these are doing <=20 mph tops so my goal is high torque and a top end of 23 mph or so. They are using at best the MYXXXX line of scooter motors (topping out at about 1000-1200 watts) and moving on down from there into less ideal motors. I know these RC...

Go Kart Ideas - Would Love Feedback!

Hi all; I've never made a go kart before but I have a good bit of mechanical/electrical experience and am very interesting in building one over the next few months. I was exhibiting at the Maker Faire in Kansas City when I saw these guys race: http://powerracingseries.org/ I watched this in...
