    Missing numbers

Before I start buying parts is there any other way of checking that those numbers are for this engine. The cover might be off a different one.

    Missing numbers

There was no sticker. The numbers were ground off. That is why I think it might be a cover off a different engine. That is why I was asking if there is another way to ID it.

    8hp Gokart starting problem...please help!

Take some jumper cables and try to jump the starter directly. Also take the starter off and try to see if it will turn over when it is out.

    Missing numbers

The numbers are not serial numbers so why grind them off? And why not grind all of them off? I just read the sticky about decoding the numbers so I know a little more about the motor.

    Missing numbers

If I buy parts do I need the other numbers? Are there other numbers that I can find that will tell me if this an 8hp and not just a different cover? What can I tell from these numbers?

    Clutch or Torque Converter?

The 3.5 is on an edger and runs awesome. The 5 is on a tiller and surges a bit. The 5.5's are not on anything but are fairly new. I would like to start the 8hp but the pull cord is broke and I have not had time to fix it yet. I am going to pick one and make a cooler kart. I will tear the engine...

    Clutch or Torque Converter?

I hit the mother load! I helped a buddy move and he let me have 5 Briggs motors. I got a 3.5, 5, 8, and two newer 5.5 inteks. I guess it is time to get off my *** and start building stuff.

    Clutch or Torque Converter?

After staying up way later than I should have reading posts I have decided to build something different. I want to stand out so I will make a lazyboy, barstool, or cooler kart. Now that it will be a one person ride I am guessing that a clutch would be no problem?

    Clutch or Torque Converter?

I am not scared to spend money if I have too, but I don't want to go crazy. This is just something that I am going to tinker with building on the weekends. I just got a 6.5 hp from harbor freight today. I just want to make something that will carry 2 big dudes and go about as fast as a golf...

    Clutch or Torque Converter?

I would like to build a kart that seats 2 adults. I will power it with anywhere from a 5 to 9 hp. I dont want to go that fast, just cruise around the pasture. Would a clutch work or is there going to be too much weight for it?
