    Low-Tech Front Suspension

I'm thinking that the spring will need to be strong enough to not compress when there is a rider so that it absorbs only when you hit a bump. Should probably put a rubber grommet or something at the bottom so the metal spindle doesn't slam down on the steering bracket.

    Low-Tech Front Suspension

That's an awesome Idea. i'm going to try it. I just need a spare set of spindles so I can revert back if I screw it up. Any suggestion of spring tension? I don't have as much space as your Digo. I'm going to attempt to put it on a Kenbar D-856.

Is that a bolt on spring for the front end of a rigid frame kart? I have been trying to figure out how to design one and if that is readily available I'd rather just buy it than design it. If you made it can you post your schematics on how you did it?

Thanks for the great links. After looking through that comprehensive guide to spark plugs I'd almost want to say that it is running lean. But 23 and 14 look very alike and I'm just guessing so, maybe i'll play with the fuel inlet to see if I can't richen it up.

I checked the spark color. It was white it looked like after I gave a a strong pull. The spark however was fairly weak looking if it wasn't going fast. So maybe when the engine is idle is has a less than Ideal spark?

Well I used the seafoam last night. Ran it warm, and got a spray bottle and took the intake filter off and when I heard the engine fire i'd spray it in the it would rev real high for a second and then come back down. Did that for a bit and then took the spark plug out and dumped a teaspoon or so...

    Random Go Kart Thoughts

Thanks for the info anderkart great link. I was wondering what the inside of that bowl looked like. Will help alot if I go and take it apart. I was thinking about porting the intake and exhaust. Is it worth it or waste of time?

Is it hard to drill out the jets? I would assume I need to know the correct size to drill it out rather than just picking a bit and drilling? I guess I won't know if I need to jet it until after adding better exhaust and intake. Here are the tires I am considering. Or at least trying to find...

Oh and one more thing. What is the difference in cc's and hp. I'm trying to figure out if the motor I have is decent. It's a Tecumseh 6hp but the site says it is 195cc. A couple posts have said take 1hp x 25cc but obviously that doesn't add up to what my engine is. Here is a link to my kart...

    Random Go Kart Thoughts

Just browsing through the site I have come up with a few interesting thoughts ideas and questions and figured I'd see if anyone has some answers. So... Has anyone ever made a Go kart with an engine controlling each tire by independently? Like something small 6hp for each tire? After upgrading...

Not sure on the spark. I'll check today if I can get out there. I think it is just buildup from it sitting for while. I got it used and I'm sure it wasn't stored properly, so there is probably a dirty carb or something. I picked some seafoam up last night that I'm going to use to see if it...

It doesn't have a starter on it. It is a pull start.

Ok well I finally got around to working on the Go Kart. It still has a funky idle but the throttle issue has been fixed. It ended up being the clamp that held the throttle cable slipped so when I hit the accelerator the metal piece that the throttle cable attached to was hitting the throttle...

Do you have a list of things to tear apart and clean up when cleaning an engine that has sat for a while. Apparently the owner previous to myself let the engine sit. It could probably use a good deep cleaning. All I have done was emptied all the gas out of it, put new fresh gas in with some...

So I guess what I need to do is take off the float and clean that? Or is there something else that might be clogged.

I'll try to get a video of what it is doing so that you can see/hear what I am talking about. Was surprised though that adjusting the low speed did nothing at all. I fly nitro powered model planes and have adjusted the low speed on the tiny hobby engines and have had results of it smoothing the...

I see. Think you could describe what the low speed would be and whee to look. I kinda of have an idea, but am not familiar with where to look. The float is what someone else mentioned I talked with said it might be. How do I clean the float or get it unstuck?

    Kenbar

Wow. Wasn't expecting such a quick response. No, it doesn't seem to misfire. It will fire and then not fire for what sounds like 4 compressions then fire. But if you give it some gas. It will fire which increases the rpms significantly and makes the go kart want to take off.

Ok, so here's the problem. I have a Kenbar D-856. The thing just doesn't seem to get up and go like it did when I first got it. I am not the firs owner of it and had to tweak it a little to get it back up and running. But I'll hit the gas and it doesn't have the grab I guess you could say that...
