Update on my dumb clutch (Go kart running!)

It is the furthest thing from running perfect. Also I did clean the drive clutch on the cvt, it didn't help. I am just going to purchase a new kit for it. When I said it works perfectly, I was talking about the size of the belt on the clutch.

Update on my dumb clutch (Go kart running!)

unfortunatley not. In that video, see how the belt is just sitting on the fly weights. Well mine is doing that even when I give it gas, and it won't properly engage whenever It is given gas. I need to know how to get the cvt working properly.

Update on my dumb clutch (Go kart running!)

Alright everybody. This is exaclty what my cvt runs like, even when I give it gas. However, I know that the belt isn't too long because I looked up the belt numbers and it works perfectly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfRu4RjNzX8

    Jiangdong jf200 6.5 Linkage

You are exactly right, it is. I will the second I get my hands on a camera. The problem is we can't get the kart in high speed. I think it is some bad springs.

Update on my dumb clutch (Go kart running!)

Update on my "dumb clutch" Okay, so I now know that my clutch is a Torque converter type. It is known as the lock up clutch. Still a few questions though. I know my go kart is not suposed to take off when I try to pull start it, so what is the problem there. Also My engine is at a constant rev...

    Dumb clutch

Thanks, I am trying to get the pics up, but we just recently sold our camera. However now I am begging to think it is the drive pulley. The bearings inside of it don't want to spin, and the springs are all rusted to pulp.

    Dumb clutch

It is not the pulley, it is the clutch, and I told you, I don't know what my neighbor done to it, or the guy before him. All they told me was they did mods to it. I don't know if the cart has the original clutch on it or not. However it most likely has a centrifugal clutch on it so yes.

    Dumb clutch

It is either a centrifugal clutch or a polaris clutch.

    Dumb clutch

That could very well be. I looked in between the fly weight and seen that the spring was really chorded, probably from it sitting at our negihbors.

    Dumb clutch

Will do. I can probably have them up tommarow, or the next day. Thanks.

    Dumb clutch

Alright, here is the deal. I have a Hammer Head 80t. And the clutch is all messed up. It is constantly engaged, even when the go kart is off. When I go to pull the chord to start it, it wants to take off. To start it I have to push it to jump it. We tried cleaning it, the spring, sanded it...
