Please excuse my ignorance again. I have used several of these and the ones I recieved had a shoulder machined into ALL of the grooves, so a bolt could go in one direction for the larger, outer slots and and bolts would go in the OPPOSITE direction in the inner grooves.

Does anybody watch Carsandcameras on You Tube? They have what looks like an awesome bender that uses compressed air.
I don't recall seeing a name on it, but I will pay attention next time I see it.
I worked in muffler shops for quite a while. We always had that big, hydraulic bender in the middle of the shop and we used it every day. we could all bend custom pipes to go under a car pretty much by looking and estimating, then tweaking it after we tried to fit them .

Before I got a bender, I used a bandsaw and a MIG welder to miter quite a few offroad frames together using 1.5 inch mild steel square tubing.
That was long time ago, and most are still being used.
I never thought to use the plate like that. I assume we would put one bolt down into the frame and one up into the engine, in the same slot all the way around and ignore the four slots in the middle?

I have used those plates. I believe they are for bolting the small 79 and 97cc (DB30) engines onto a standard size frame, or bolting a standard size (212) onto a small bike that had the tiny engine. There might be one for mounting a standard size engine onto a standard size frame, but I haven't...
My neighbor has one of those HF tubing rollers. He seems to really like it. I have never seen it in use, but I have seen some thing he has made with it. He said it took some learning to use it. He builds some tow bars for ski boats and accessories for trailers. I might get one to try it.
Can you loosen the bolts holding the engine down to the frame and move the jackshaft plate? It looks like a seperate plate between the engine and the frame. Adjust your alignment, adjust your chain and your belt and tighten the bolts. Look at that and if that doesn't work, wait for someone smart...
I have been running into problems with custromer neighbors and their gas powered riding mowers and karts/minibikes, dying in the afternoon heat.
We narrowed it down to vapor lock. Fuel boiling in the fuel lines (near the engine, under a hood) or in the carb bowl. We figured this out today at 98...
When it dies, immediately check for spark at the plug, try to drain the fuel bowl. If liquid comes out, catch it in a clear glass jar.
If nothing comes out, find out why. If liquid comes out, see if water separates out at the bottom of the jar. If no spark, you seem competent to finish this...

They used 5/8 bolts on each side, through a couple pieces of 1.5 inch square tubing bolted to each side and bolted to the wood frame. Minibike wheel, band brake on the wheel and a clutch on a Predator 212.

If you plan to build a kart frame for a gas engine, plan on spending well over $500 with tires, wheels, sprockets, brakes, steering components, seat, engine and misc. hardware. All of that comes AFTER you have a solid frame.
