No, I haven't contacted Northern... its out of warranty... wasn't sure if they would even help me at this point.

Thanks guys for all the advice. Found out the problem was a combination of gravity and too low of a pressure pump. I race the kart on a small oval track. 90% of the guys I race have left wheel drive and run clockwise around the track... In this direction, gravity was pulling the fuel away...

I just installed a vacuum fuel pump on my tecumseh yesterday, took it out today and found that after I accelerate from idle, I seem to lose fuel pressure for some reason. When I start it I can see fuel getting pumped through my clear fuel filter, but after I accelerate, its like I just ran out...

no, it wasn't normalized. I don't know of anyone locally that does it.

The kart is 6 ft long and 20 in wide at the main rails with a 36 in rear axle.... thats about all I know off hand... I started with those measurements and played the rest by eye after.

could always use a starter off a small engine (tractor). those are 12vdc

no, its definitely only gonna stop one wheel in the position its in right now... once i get it working right... I would either have to get the rotor machined to fit the differential housing or get another disc brake setup for the other half of the axle.

thanks, and yes, it is all aluminum, no I'm just a fabricator/welder by hobby... I'm sure there is a way to put a rotor on the diff itself, I would just have to get it machined to fit.

yes, it was an old MTD from the 80's... my mother sucked up one of the tire chains and destroyed the auger gear box and ended up throwing the whole machine away because it wasn't repairable... I grabbed the motor...
