Manco Magnum Express needs work, I need advice.

Alright, I got the jet out today and it is labeled as a #97. I'm not positive but that may be stock. So is the consensus that with the header and air filter I should head up to a #99?

Sounds reasonable, so one of the pre made kits or just source new pieces? I did pick up the hex axle 6" rotor that is slotted. I will either cut off the old flat rotor or use that for the new brakes.

Denny, AS far as the hydraulic brake goes, does it make a difference new or used? Is a kit better than pieces, should I just look around for a set off an atv? Will a flux core welder be adequate for the task at hand?

I do not have a welder, I have approximate welding knowledge, but little hands on experience. I think I can get easy access to a fluxcore, my neighbor may have a Mig hidden. I'm waiting for some parts to get in and a good weekend to take over the garage to address a bunch of these easier tasks...

Denny, I have found some guides that state if you have a yellow spring on the 40 series then both the driver and driven should be flipped outwards. In my case, I do not think I have the space for the chain to be flipped, should I just replace the yellow spring with a red spring?

I had a similar idea to increase the force lever. When I get the new brake I will check the throw on the pedal and try to adjust to increase the force. The rod on mine has some play in it to work with.

My plan exactly. I think there is enough room to mount the other brake essentially mirrored and just hook up a lever handle for parking.

On the way already. Grabbed a seat belt too.

It's a hex axle, so that is good to know. I have already ordered a replacement rotor and brake. I want to see how hard that mechanical brake can hold before upgrading.

So flat side should be out on the driver pulley?

Never had the land and the money at the same time to make it worth. Now I have 7 acres with trails and I'm single with no kids, so I have money.

Ok, will return springs to the way they were and see if it works. On first crank it was stuck open, but I have since adjusted the idle down and will recheck. I definitely want to use a hydraulic brake, did you have to do anything for mounting? I will probably want front brakes, as I live in...

That nut can be locked down and it will not grab. I know it needs at least new pads if not a rebuild, however the question remains if it will be sufficient to stop the Kart. As for the driven pulley, I don't think there is room to flip it due to alignment. I will have to check over the springs...

Hey folks, Picked up my first go kart, a Manco Magnum Express 606B-07, last week and am in need of some sage advice and direction. The guy I bought it from had done a small amount of work, mostly to get it moving. It seems he rode it hard, it developed some issues, after which he put it up for...

Hey folks, MY name is Dylan and I have just picked up my first Kart at 31. I've always wanted one and finally found a steal on the marketplace. Picked up this Manco Magnum Express 606B-07 with a 420cc predator upgrade. The kart has had some work done to it for sure, but needs a lot more. I...
