    Newbie to the World

When they stopped building karts in the United States in 2005, BMI (Barhorst Manufacturing Inc) bought up a lot of the kart manufacturing assets. They have a HUGE multi buildings stock of parts. They are located in Ohio and he has one heck of a lot of stuff. He even has crates of WWII Harley...

    МотоФинки для зимней рыбалки..

Ed -- we might have to send Denny over there to check that out. You made me look again and you are right that extension on the engine may be a a clutch housing. And I looked at the sprocket again and wonder if that is being held in place with a set screw since the 6 star shaft is not drilled...

    МотоФинки для зимней рыбалки..

Direct drive Denny, so you better be ready to go when you pull start. He sure kept the complete unit light, there is no extra weight there, they use the K.I.S.S. principal over there also.

Need advice (vintage 1960 home-built kart)

Carter Brothers had a few karts with belt drives. This one sure has a beefy support where it switches down to chain on the final drive. Trying to figure out how wide the pulley is to determine if it is an A or B belt. It sure is going to be a project. Chad where are you located?? Yes it is...

    Gk110 chain setup

Hell of a lot of work dicking with the axle. I would get me a 3/8" plate of steel and mount a plate on top of the existing motor mount plate and reposition the engine slot the holes so you have adjustment. Taking that axle apart is way too much work and what if you cannot get the sprocket...

    Gk110 chain setup

My guess is you loosen the first nut and back it off to the right , then you turn the second nut which more than likely is attached to the sprocket and as you turn the nut to the right the whole sprocket moves with it . Once you get it align then you move the single nut back against the...

Help with clutch after crankshaft replacement on predator 212

Mystery solved you have a 16mm shaft. You aren't the first to use the magic hammer to get it on. Getting it off is going to be the ***** and most likely the drum no longer free spins on the sleeve but it is a lesson learned and you are wiser for it, we hope.

Help with clutch after crankshaft replacement on predator 212

Several ways the crank can get worn down and Hellion has one example. The most common one is that crank you got came rom an engine that had the clutch mounted OUTBOARD and he wore the bushing out in the clutch and then the sprocket started wearing on the sleeve and then wore into the crank...

Help with clutch after crankshaft replacement on predator 212

Well let's just check out the china clutch to see what you have. Take a penny and see if it fits nicely into both ends of the clutch. A penny is exactly .750 (3/4" ) in diameter and is a great measuring device. If the penny fits in the clutch then you know the new clutch has the correct...

Help with clutch after crankshaft replacement on predator 212

Measure the crankshaft diameter so we have a clue what you are talking about. Sounds like you got a 5/8" or metric crank and not the 3/4" (.750) you thought you were buying. Where did you buy it from is another question? See if the bolt you had holding on the clutch before fits the new...

    Look what the dog did!!!

Good looking car Denny. Was going to have you stop by for a tour and pick up some steel cut-offs for projects but you made the trip before I could make the suggestion. You can give the dog a treat, he has a good eye for beauty.

    Centrifugal Clutch with Needle Bearings

Thank you for the fine compliments. Wish I could take credit for the design but the original owner, George Fields, came up with that design in 1970 and it is the most copied clutch out there. My biggest competitor, Comet, copied it in 1983 and the china boys have also done the same. The...

    Centrifugal Clutch with Needle Bearings

The smallest 3/4" crankshaft sprocket you can get with a needle bearing is a 13 tooth. All 12 tooth sprockets in the #35 with be a bushing. BUT neither the bushing or the needle bearing are doing anything once you are moving. They are non-functional while moving, they only come into play at...
