Never mind... I think my driven is backwards. I have to get a longer belt and turn it around. That might be my problem.

Question for you guys about your torque converter. I just spent the last 2 days rebuilding the whole backend to accomidate the new torque converter (comet 40 series). Tried it out tonight, but the torque converter was really mis-behaving. Seems like the driven was opening up way too fast...

I have a bend axle (will verify shortly) out of 1.25" aluminum. I don't care about weight.... what is the strongest axle I can get without spending a ton? Steel? Chromoly? Other?

OK, our new torque converter showed up. The new torque converter is HUGE compared to the 30 series we tried to get away with. I may have to redesign the back end. I was looking at your pics for some ideas. Do you have a way to tighten the chain? I didn't see a way, but maybe I am missing...
