459 predator and golf cart parts

Hi all, I'm working on building a kart with a predator 459 with a Noram 21100 wet clutch 2:1 reduction driving a comet 790 cvt out to a golf cart axle with 6:1 gears giving an overall drive ratio of 6.48:1 with an 18 inch golf cart tire I'll be doing around 45mph at 5500 rpm I'm mildly...

    Go kart gearing issues

Gotcha, will a cvt have any issues with water? I'm planning on making this cart a creek buggy so it will encounter water and sand pretty regularly.

    Go kart gearing issues

Hi all, I recently have been putting together a offroad single seat go kart. I've fitted a predator 459 on it and a noram 1600 series clutch. It has 22 inch tires, 14t clutch sprocket, 60t axle sprocket. I'm having issues with getting the kart to move with my 260lb self driving without roasting...

    The Mean Green Machine

OK I am going to try to keep the stock two key shaft, brakes are a problem I was thinking of mounting a pad on either the input pulley on the Trans or on the jackshaft, lowering is going to be very hard being that I'm already running 6 inch wheels out front. I'm thinking of trying to get the...

    The Mean Green Machine

Right now the only steering mods I'm doing is freeze the pivot on the axle, reason being when I was driving it and turning around the outside front corner would dip and the rear inside corner would lift up. Speed I'm shooting for is somewhere between 20 and 30 mph. Something else to add if...

    The Mean Green Machine

Well the transaxle is a peerless 910 single speed, I did not try to shift on the fly, I did try to put it in reverse but all I got was a mashing sound coming from the trans, that's why I'm putting a centrifugal clutch in so when the engines at idle I can shift into the prefered gear and go...

    The Mean Green Machine

Howdy, I am embarking on my first go kart project, here's my time line so far, about 6 months ago I purchased a used John Deere RX75 RER (Rear Engine Rider) after about a week of tinkering I got the 7.75 inch input pulley on the transaxle swapped for a 3 inch and the 3 inch pulley on the engine...

Would a side pulley transaxle work better than a top pulley?

I think I will put my clutch locker jackshaft between the transaxles and the hubs so I will not tear up the transaxles if I hit bumps and stuff.

To accomplish differential locking and unlocking I plan to mount a sprocket connected to another sprocket on a electromagnetic clutch on a shaft do that on both sides of the transaxles so I can turn on and off the cliches to lock and unlock the differential. Any input on this idea?
