A few pics of the kart

Well for one, I’m 6’ 185 so trust me a recoil starter is no issues for me. I want to retain the recoil because it would be nice to have a backup on long trail rides. When I was in the market for a 450 mx bike me and every one of my friends said the same thing, get a bike with both e-start and...

A few pics of the kart

Already got an arc rod, I forgot to mention that. The one concern I have as of right now is the flywheel. I want a billet one but I want e-start and recoil started as well. I noticed a few billet flywheels with the e-start gear but no recoil cup? Instead they have adjustable timing which I’m not...

    New carb, not getting gas

Yeah, he could try that but chances are he will receive another with issues. I have seen this many of times with atv's, it starts running funny and people automatically think it's the carburetor, so they go on eBay to find one and they see a brand new one for cheap and think they are getting a...

    Honda GoBuggy 400

That stainless frame is beautiful, I would run a diamond plate aluminum floor pan in that bad boy. Just weld on some tabs and run countersunk screws washers from the bottom and nuts on top. Can't wait to see it when it's done.

    New carb, not getting gas

I would start by dissembling the carb, then use carb cleaner or compressed air and start by spraying into the fuel line tube and make sure there is no blockage. Then do the same for all of the other ports/openings and make sure there are no blockages. After that, assemble the float assembly, use...

A few pics of the kart

Hi all, I got this kart about three months ago and only got it as an add on to all of my other toys, little did I know that it would become a full on project. First the tecumseh 6.0hp just never ran right, so I ditched that and got a predator 420cc and removed the governor and added some 32lb...

GP 40 series driver getting stuck?

Yeah, I think I will fabricate something up and utilize the the parts from the gps 40 series driven to make it work. I do believe I can make the driven float by making a motor mount plate and welding some brackets to that for the 5/8" bearings for an extended 5/8" jack shaft. Of course this is...

GP 40 series driver getting stuck?

That's what I thought joe, But everywhere I look says to align both back parts of the pulleys? Exactly what needs to happen here? Should I center the belt in between both pulleys or should the front driver be slightly off center towards the wheel or a lot off center towards the wheel. On a side...

GP 40 series driver getting stuck?

@Bbqjoe idk about that, that's a pretty aggressive bend for the belt isn't it? I could try it but I'm not sure the belt could bend that much. Below I will try and post some pics of my setup so you can give me some feedback on if it's gtg or not.

GP 40 series driver getting stuck?

Thanks for all of the help itsid, gopowersports is sending a replacement front drive so I will give that a try and see how it goes. I have the driver (clutch) pushed out away from the motor and the driven in toward the plate as from the factory. From what I'm gathering this is how this...

GP 40 series driver getting stuck?

@8t6bronko yes I contacted them and am awaiting there response. @gman3850 I doubt it, I'm only hitting about 4500 rpm. @KartFab exactly what's happening to me bud. But I also noticed that it mainly happens when it gets hot, which leads me to believe the main spring is getting soft and not...

GP 40 series driver getting stuck?

Hi all, it seems as though my new go power sports 40 series driver has an issue. When I'm driving the kart for a while and go to accelerate then come to a stop the driver sticks partially open riding the belt making the engine shut down. I removed the driver and disassembled it to find one of...

    40 series question

@joe-405 So just align the two pulleys back plates that are towards the engine side right like in the gps youtube vid? I really wish these things came with instructions crying out loud. Maybe I'm making this harder then it needs to be huh.

    40 series question

@kenworth85 yeah I agree 100% I should had known that 1/8" thick mild steel plate is no where near strong enough for the weight of a 420. I will take some 1" square stock and run it down both sides then run a piece through the center and that should do it. Thanks for all of the advice fellas, I...

    40 series question

My apologies for the long script. I'm used to another forum which everyone keeps the text together. So I should keep the belt centered in both the driver and driven? Excuse my lack of knowledge on the kart setups, I am used to scooter cvt's although they seem similar. I understand that the...

    40 series question

The kit I have is the go power sports kit, it has that big thick steel backing plate. The driven has a yellow spring and the side with the spring came and installed facing outwards away from the engine. Now I installed the driver with the big nut facing away from the engine. I have the belt...
