I threw together an unmoldin' video for the YouTubers (it's kinda staged...but, ya know) ;) * I think the sound "died" on my 'ol camera ...& maybe time for an upgrade :thumbsup:

Then started pickin'-n-pryin' around the perimeter Once everything seemed kinda loose around the edges ...so, I started applying some "lifting action/pressure from underneath, usin' the Screwjacks I could see some lifting along the sides ...but, that "hump" wasn't "givin' up the ship" :ack2...

Same procedure in the back (tail) ...but, WTF?? :huh::furious2::mad2: I got 'er off ...but, it wasn't easy It wasa "stuck" on really well ...& absorbed some "battle wounds" Came out lookin' like this :2guns:

Well...let's see...:p First, we "pop" this thing off Yes, it's the "nose" lid :thumbsup: Seemed ta come off pretty clean Then, went ta pickin'-proddin' & a pryin' around the edges Some snapin'-n-cracklein'-n-popin ...& we got 'er off :2guns: Wow! that turned out, pretty kool! :sifone:

Hey Denny, Whilst I wasa doin' these last (2) layers ...I did a scentifical test, betwixt the red plastic cup & the clear kind, for ya :thumbsup: I used the clear cup (on the left) to mix up all (4) batches, for layer #2 (held up fine) ...& the clear cup on the right for (3) of the batches...

Of course, I got some close up pics :thumbsup: "nose" area "tail" area There are a few "spots" where I couldn't get the FG ta "lay" too goodly ...so, gonna have ta "clean them up later" :cheers2:

Layer #3 "ready for duty" :thumbsup: * Notice I added a custom/unique "watermark" :sifone: This is a really big piece ...so, I pre-fit & aligned it ;) Made sure it was pretty well aligned, from side-ta-side too Ta help keep 'er aligned ...I flipped (1) end up ...& then, started "laminatin'...

Upon re-contemplation, I went back & pre-fitted-n-notched the FG I cut, for the 2nd layer of FG ...just like I did for the FG I cut for the 3rd layer ;) Re-cap this layer #1 Layer #2 * Took ~1 1/2 hours ta do ...& I used (4) 16 oz cups (or ~64 oz. of resin) :thumbsup:

Did have a bit of time, in the evening, ta cut the FG (1708) for the 3rd layer ;) Cuttin' this layer in an opposing orientation/direction 🤓 Clos(er) up view Then, layed 'er on the mold, ta do some notchin-n-fittin' Should be able ta get 'er ta "wrap-n-lay" pretty goodly, in the back ...& up...

Since it's been about a week, since I did the first layer of FG ...& the resin has cured pretty well We gots ta (as per directions) "scuff up" the surface ...ta help the next layer, bond good, ta the "base" layer :cheers2: First, I trimmed off/cleaned up, some of the "jagged" edges PPG (HD...

Gettin' ready for the second layer of FG Time ta pre-cut some FG So, I got out a roll of 1708 ...did some measurin' ...& then, did some cuttin' :thumbsup: Ain't rippin' this stuff, like I did the CSM FG mat :surrender: I must say this little cutter, cuts thru this stuff, like "a hot knife...

Option #1 ...seems like it has better engineering :thumbsup:

16oz. of resin ...& ~7.5ml catalyst After ~100 "strokes" or ~1 min of stirrin' ...we pours 'er in the pan ...& "goop up" the roller 4 hours later...literally "tail" & deck area Gettin' around all of this stuff wasa NOT fun &/or easy ...so, it had better turn out...really kool :thumbsup...

Hey Denny, I'ma gonna maybe try that :cheers2: ...as brushin' this stuff on (last summer) ...& rollin' it on (this year) ...has been a major PITA :oops: I always try-n-use "old stock" first ...&/so, I have ~1/3 of a gal. of Polyester resin left from building the "body mold" last summer ...but...

First thing ta do, the next morning, after a quick "blow off" (ta make sure nuthin' settled on our nice-n-waxed surface) ...was to apply a coat of PVA (Poly Vinyl Alcohol) This is some really thick stuff ...but, runs really, really easy :furious2::mad2: Ta-Da But, if ya take a closer look...
