Street legal recumbent motorcycle with a predator 420.

I'm part of a motorcycle group called Two wheels in St George Utah. I have ridden with them on more than one occasion and haven't had any issues LOL. They are an eclectic group of motorcyclists with all different brands. Most people will never get to see a recumbent motorcycle in their life so...

Street legal recumbent motorcycle with a predator 420.

Comfortable seating position and definitely some vibrations in the handlebar. I've built these types of bikes for years, not my first rodeo but this has been by far one of my favorites.

Street legal recumbent motorcycle with a predator 420.

It's been quite a while since I've posted anything. This is one of my latest builds, top speed 55mph.

    The latest street legal 420

I took a shaky video of the Tc in action and only saw the fully on the engine max out at the very end of my run. If it's a horsepower issue, I will bump it up a little bit. However if the tc ratio is off I do not know what to do about that. I have the smallest sprocket you can get for my rear...

    The latest street legal 420

How's it going guys this time I took two other projects apart to make this one. I have a question about torque converter. My current gearing is a 14 tooth and a 48 tooth on the rear 24-in wheel. The torque converter has a hard time getting past 42 mph. With a centrifugal clutch that current...

    40 series cvt questions

All right, where to start. LOL I bought a 40 series for my 420 predator. The plate was strong enough but somebody welded the back pipe with bearings crooked. I cut the plate almost in half and bend it at the seam and rewelded it to get the pulleys to line up. Then I noticed if I kept the rear...

    gy6 150 cart question

Thanks for your replies, I just wanted to make sure this sprocket goes on the shaft down to the axle. Is it safe to run the output shaft unsupported?

    gy6 150 cart question

Im thinking about installing a gy6 150 on my trike but i cant any pics online showing the final chain drive up to the engine. Is it just a splined pipe with a small sprocket attached to it hanging off the shaft where the original scooter tire fit? Is the output shaft supported on the other side...

    Gearing Conundrum

Landuse is correct on a torque converter belt. Torque converter belt do not like high RPMs on a consistent basis, they tend to vaporize. Gearing is everything. If you can't be satisfied with top end or low end going with middle ground it's your safest bet.

    Gearing Conundrum

A long time ago in a galaxy far away... I built a recumbent bicycle and my buddy installed a 212 predator motor with a 60 tooth rear sprocket on a 20-in tire. Had a top speed of about 55 and you could drag race any car off the line. Had so much acceleration it would throw you into the seat. And...

    420 bobber

No inserts. 120 wall is pretty thick plus it welds nice and if you have to grind a down a weld there's a decent amount of weld between joints that It won't snap off. I've built multiple trikes and bikes with it. If it's a large vehicle it'll start to get a little heavy. I only have a harbor...

    420 bobber

The front fork and rear tire are off a Kawasaki eliminator 125. The tire is 24 in tall the current sprocket I have on there is a 70th and 10 teeth on the clutch. I am currently ordering a 50th so I can at least get 65mph out of it. So far only the governor has been bypass for an extra thousand RPM

    420 bobber

Thank you kindly sir. I've always wanted a clean looking bobber and I needed to do something different anyway instead of the same old bikes. Before too long I'm going to start on a trike.

    420 bobber

My latest 420cc project. Street legal of course. Od green and tan. I definitely need to get a smaller sprocket on the back to get some more speed out of her. Could use a speedometer also, and I will be building a front fender for it soon.

    Diesel motor question

I was looking around at various types of equipment motors to install on projects and came across a few diesel motors. Does anybody on this forum currently use a small equipment diesel motor on their mini bike go kart or other vehicle? And if yes what size, how is the reliability and what is the...
