    Offset Flywheel Keys

'sid, If I understand correctly, you are suggesting using offset keys in reverse to retard timing? Good idea, I like it ! Don Jones

    Tachometer

I have been looking at Northern Tools tach, item # 160590. It is a digital tachometer/hourmeter. It is compact and pretty good looking. The same tach is available on Ebay for less than $20.00. I am going to buy one there. Don Jones

    Offset Flywheel Keys

I just took a look at my ARC billet flywheel, and it already has 32 degrees of advance built into the key way. With these particular flywheels, no offset key is needed. So, be sure to check the amount of advance built into your flywheel before installing an offset key. Don Jones

    Offset Flywheel Keys

After doing some more research, I have concluded that 8 degrees of advance is about what I need for my particular setup. Don Jones

    Offset Flywheel Keys

I am building an ARC box stock 6.5 BSP engine with header and silencer. I am adding a + .010 billet rod and possibly a flat top piston. I haven't decided on this yet. This engine has a .615 bored and jetted carb. Don Jones

    Offset Flywheel Keys

I have been reading on some of the web sites about advancing ignition timing with offset flywheel keys. They tell how it is done, but I have not read how to determine which key to use. In other words, how do you figure out how many degrees of advance to put in the engine ? Is it just trial and...

    Disc Brake/Sprocket Combo

I am in the process of rebuilding an old Percival. It actually appears in the few pictures I have seen of these go karts, that this is the method originally used. At this time, my go kart has the brake rotor attached to the left hand hub, and the caliper will indeed clear a sprocket drive chain...

    Disc Brake/Sprocket Combo

I read somewhere about using the sprocket as a disc brake rotor. I always think the simpler, with fewer parts one can use on a mechanical device, the more elegant and reliable the result. I was planning on trying this, but began thinking about oil from the chain on the sprocket, and now have...

    Azusa Road Rocket

It is a Wisconsin Robin. I don't think it is especially powerful, it is just physically large. It does run, so I plan to keep it for some future project. Don Jones

    Azusa Road Rocket

Well, I took everyone's advice and bought myself an old beater to restore. I picked me up a Percival Wildcat/Hellcat. As you can imagine , a 50 + year old cart needs a little work. It has a giant Wisconsin engine cobbled onto it, which has to go. Actually what I am going to do is a resto-mod on...

    Azusa Road Rocket

Good Morning, Well, I am a 66 year old noob! I have been wanting a Go Kart since I was 10, and I have decided it is time I get one ! I want an old school 1960's style machine, and have been looking at the Azusa fun cart/Road Rocket kit, as there are some pretty good sales going...
