Ok guys the engine runs fine the only problem is when I start it the cart wants to take off, I thought the clutch would only engage after it was throttled so much... But instead it seems to stay engaged and is causing the cart to want to take off on me before I get in. I can't figure this out...

Governer is still in, I haven't fooled with motor at all just installed it in the kart, hooked up the throttle and that's it, after putting gas and oil in it I pulled a few times while it was choked, once started I ran it for a,while and then jumped on it and went around the block . It never did...

Will do as soon as I get home, it still has the governor. also is the idol screw the little screw with a spring on it that seems to stop the throttle the tighter it is tightened? I'm trying to figure out wich screw is the idle speed screw..

The first time I cranked her I gave it a third of throttle like the manual said to do, she kept running as long as I kept at a third or more, I stayed on the throttle from there and she ran. I took it around the block two times I killed it to see how it would act on a re-crank... Now she won't...

Got the cart put together and ran it one time. Now it seems to not want to start or stay at an idol....what could I be doing wrong ......

I thought the key was part of the clutch....thanks so much guys looks like I'm safe to bolt the motor down and get goin... You guys are awsone and I will post pics of the cart tomorrow.

here's the pic of my clutch, seems to have the key built in but never fooled with these little motors so don't know.....but I can stick it on the shaft and it turns everything just fine. am I wrong or right guys. once I get this figured out I can gas and go! hope my relationship with this site...

Sorry, frustrated with this cart and maybe took it the wrong way. I know pics would help a whole bunch and as soon as I can figure out how to post them I deff will and once again sorry about the last post I'm letting this cart get the best of me and shouldnt have said that.

Ok have the old motor off and put the new one on. When I try to put the new clutch on and tighten the bolt to the shaft that keeps it from coming off it slides unroll it pushes the key out of the beveled edge of the key inlay, I beleive the key is too long. Also dies the chain hold the clutch...

I think I pretty much have it thanks for all the advice you have givin me I will try to set it all up this evening.

Only question now is what brake line should I get... I bought a bike kit such has spehere on one end and ball on the other . Can't fit neither through the hole on the 10 ml nut with screw on the throttle housing so what kind should I get? I'm now only confused on how to connect a cable and such...

Ok just realized after taking the air filter housing off that pushing on the throttle control only closes the carb not open it.... So throttle housing loose after loosening the nut on it and seems like if I hook a cable to it now I will be good. Am I heading in the right direction now guys?

It seems like the only way to get a full throttle out of this thing is if I push the peice under the gas tank all the way forward while the lever is all the way on bunny mode (lol). When the lever is pushed to bunny it seems like the throttle control is where I should be hooked up to in order...

Just did and it is now loose. Seems like I'm heading in the right direction but that doesn't seem to control the throttle if I hook a cable to that nut yet where do I go from here?

It seems like I need to connect to the moving peace underneath the gas tank, if I connect to the other stuff with the screws and all it will only control the turtle and bunny speed, what am I doing wrong lol

I'm looking at the motor I just bought it, I see the throttle screws but I don't under stand how to get the cable connected to where it will move the throttle any...I'm about to go to Walmart to see what the cable looks like
