    Transmissions transmissions transmission

Alrighty, this really got my brain hurting, it's hard to find info about this out there. What transmissions have you used? My cart is going to have plenty of power (AC-50 (electric) 144v and about 80 hp peak, weighs about 600 pounds total) So little 100cc trans will be destroyed looking for...

    charging

yeah, I agree with what chancer said Maybe you could put some solar panels and leave it out in the sun all the time. but an alternator would kill almost every bit of power you have.

Hey guys I'm new to electric go karts, but I have enough experience with gas ones, and even more experience with cars I'm currently designing a new electric go kart. And I'm wondering if there is a way that I can figure out exactly how powerful it needs to be, depending on the wait of my...

    Wheel to clutch ratio

so maybe something like a 6.6:1? and do the tire size also have a direct relationship with top speed vs acceleration just like the gear ratio does?

    Wheel to clutch ratio

Your a lot of help! okay so 7:1 = 14'' wheels, got it so, the higher the gear ratio, the more acceleration. how do the wheels correspond? bigger wheels = greater top speed? but do they effect acceleration and hurt my clutch

    Wheel to clutch ratio

Thanks! okay so I dont know much about jackshifts :/ Also, most of this will be on pavement, but some off roading is necessary :) The only clutch i know how to use/install is a centrifugal one, so how difficult would it be to use/install your suggested set up and what would be the advantages...
