(Noob) How to connect the wheel to an axle?

Yeah but is it built-in? And if I buy these ones on ebay, will I have to buy separate locking collars? Thanks! Tyler

(Noob) How to connect the wheel to an axle?

I've been really busy so I haven't had much time to work on it, but I haven't given up! I bought the "brake hub" and the #25 Chain 55t sprocket. After careful measuring and drilling, I finally have a way to connect the #25 chain motor to a 1-1/4" axle! On the surplus link it says...

(Noob) How to connect the wheel to an axle?

... they never emailed me back about what sprockets bolt-circle pattern it is. But after further research I think it's 2-9/16" (not 3") Mounting Hole Circle link. Ahhh!! Why does nothing match? The motor I bought must be really rare or something. Do you think it would work if I drill out...

(Noob) How to connect the wheel to an axle?

Ok I'll try emailing them. So you said "I'd probably go with somewhere around a 60-tooth" for the #35 chain. From what I've read 60t #35 sprocket is 7-1/4", while the 65t #25 is 5-1/2". They also have an 80t #25 sprocket, which is 6-1/2". Do you think it'd be better to buy the 80t? Thanks Tyler

(Noob) How to connect the wheel to an axle?

Ok thanks. I tried asking and also looking some more, with no luck. So what I'm thinking is that I should just keep #25 chain. I still haven't been able to find any regular #25 chain plate sprockets. But what I have found is a 65t sprocket for #25 that has a 4 hole mounting pattern that...

(Noob) How to connect the wheel to an axle?

Ok thank you so much!! That is amazing info!!! :D It's going to help me so much! I think my motor is 8mm D-shaft. (see pic 1) I tried looking for an Allen key hole on the sprocket but I don't see any. Thanks! Tyler Edit: So when you tighten the hub to the axle, it will also hold the "key"...

(Noob) How to connect the wheel to an axle?

Sorry about the confusing question, I meant a 6 hole sprocket that would attach to a sprocket hub. Ok I dont have any fancy electronic measuring device, but what I measured is: A=55mm (2.165 inches) B=45mm (1.771 inches) Bolt Holes=8mm (0.315 inches) It looks closest to...

(Noob) How to connect the wheel to an axle?

(Noob) How to connect the wheel to an axle?

Thanks, that websites looks like it could be good! I'm thinking that I should get the one with the largest number of tooth. (http://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?item=1-2742-72-F&catname=powerTrans) But I'm confused about one thing, what does it mean when it says "Bored to size, can be bored...

(Noob) How to connect the wheel to an axle?

Ok. I looked it up, #219 is close, but it's not compatible with #25. :( I've spent the whole day looking for a matching #25 sprocket, but still can't find anything. Thanks Tyler

(Noob) How to connect the wheel to an axle?

Ok thanks. I forgot to mention I also have purchased the motor (see pic). It uses #25 chain (I think it's 1/4" spacing between each link). I can't seem to find any matching sprocket/hub for #25 chain? :( Does anyone know if they make sprockets for #25 chain? Thanks! Tyler

(Noob) How to connect the wheel to an axle?

Firstly, I am sorry for my lack of knowledge. I have tried googling but I couldn't find any straight forward answers. Secondly, I don't know the terminology that well, I have never done anything like this. Ok, I am trying to build a project based on this(see pic 1) It is basically a...
